A Quick Word

Just thought I'd bop in to give a short recap on what's up in Another Country. I've mentioned in the past that my husband and I own a used bookstore.  I've also mentioned that he has a chronic, debilitating and degenerative condition.  This is a situation for which we've been planning, and things have advanced to the point that I now work by myself, full time, 6 days a week and he is on full, permanent disability.  My beading time is very precious and limited.

That being said, here are pictures of the stuff I've made since last I posted here:

(actually, I made half a dozen of these)

I've been participating in the "Embellishing the Runway" weekly challenges over at Flickr - and having a lot of fun with it, too.  I haven't the time or energy for much else - I've dropped the Beaded Journal Project and only manage the odd commission now and again.

It's been much easier for me to use Facebook these days - I can keep up with my friends and family, run my bookstore's updates there and post updates for AnotherCountry BeadWorks as well.

Guess that's it from here and for now, but there's bound to be more later, as always.

  1. You are an amazing beader. I fully enjoy visiting your Blog and looking at you beadwork. Best wishes for you and your Husband.

  2. Hi, I have been inspired by your etsy and your blog to have a go at bead embroidery. Could you please point me in the right direction for a book to help me along the way. So grateful. Lynne
PS. I live in the UK so may not be able to get all the books you have in the US

  3. @ char - Thank you so much for your kinds thoughts.

@ Lynne - My favorite primer on bead embroidery would be this: http://www.amazon.com/Art-Bead-Embroidery-Heidi-Kummli/dp/0871162431 - it should be available through amazon.com.uk - and good luck!
